The Program by Suzanne Young

YA • Dystopia • Sci-fi • Romance

Summary
Sloane knows better than to cry in front of anyone. With suicide now an international epidemic, one outburst could land her in The Program, the only proven course of treatment. Sloane’s parents have already lost one child; Sloane knows they’ll do anything to keep her alive. She also knows that everyone who’s been through The Program returns as a blank slate. Because their depression is gone—but so are their memories.

Under constant surveillance at home and at school, Sloane puts on a brave face and keeps her feelings buried as deep as she can. The only person Sloane can be herself with is James. He’s promised to keep them both safe and out of treatment, and Sloane knows their love is strong enough to withstand anything. But despite the promises they made to each other, it’s getting harder to hide the truth. They are both growing weaker. Depression is setting in. And The Program is coming for them.

My thoughts

Bad Thoughts
I though this book was amazing but I felt like Sloane always depends on someone to get through something? She uses James to get through her brother's death, Realm  to get through the Program and uses Roger to get her memories back.

This is not a bad thought but I was kind of disappointed that Realm was a good guy, I kinda want him to like really betray Sloane, it'll make the story more... interesting? IDK guys.

Good Thoughts
All them feels.

This book was a very very very very great read. I felt super connected to the characters, like for example when Sloane does something, I will think 'Hey that's what I would do'. I felt her pain, her hapiness, her love for James and her loss. The author really develop the characters well, I could picture the characters in my mind (with the help of the cover....so much for using my imagination). Sometimes the story is just so overwhelming I just have to shut it and ignore it for 5 minutes.

I LOVE IT!

I honestly don't get the Epilog??? (Is that even how you spell it)

  1. Yay so glad to hear you loved this book! This has been in my TBR for a long time now, and I'm quite curious about it because of all the people talking about this. I'm glad you liked the feels! (actually I'm glad that there are feels to feel, in general.) I'm a little doubtful on Sloane, but anyway I hope I get to read this and enjoy it as much as you did! Thanks for the review :)
